He settled in Dorset, England, where he inherited from his father the manor of Winfrith and extensive estates in that in that county. In 1172 Roger de Newburg and wife Matilda (Whom he married in 1170), founded the cistercian Abbey of Binden in Dorset which they endowed with lands, as appears by their charter of that year; and in this monastery they and some ten generations of their descendants were sepultures.
